A way of using natural resources without depleting them

5 Land Resources Soil Erosion: the wearing away of surface soil by water and wind. Desertification: turning a once productive area into a desert

6 Forest Resources Deforestation: loss of forests
Effect: can lead to severe erosion

7 Fishery Resources Overfishing: harvesting fish faster than they can be replaced or reproduced Aquaculture: the raising of aquatic animals for human consumption

8 Air Resources Smog: a mixture of chemicals that occurs as a gray-brown haze Pollutant: harmful material that can enter the biosphere through the land, air, or water
