Directions: You will need good shoes and an open mind to complete this lab These exercises are designed to help you better understand how we interact with the world around us For each exercise, follow the link provided or carry out the activity based on the instructions Make sure to answer all questions for the ability to earn full credit If the summative activity is not completed, you will earn zero credit on this assignment

Activity 1: Balance (Vestibular)
Our sense of balance is very important We will be testing our balance in these exercises Take the Balance Test Based on the exercises, how good was your balance? Are you surprised by this? Why? How might one improve their ability to balance?

Activity 2: Fear of Heights/Vertigo (Vestibular)
While the fear of heights can be terrifying to many people, it can also trigger vertigo in some (lucky me). Disclaimer: The video we are about to watch might be a bit stressful for some of you. It might also cause a sense of vertigo in some of you. If that is the case, please close your eyes or turn away. Video: Unicycle on huge chimney in Targu Jiu How, if at all, did the video effect you? Are you surprised by this? Why? Did you experience any vertigo? If so, explain the feeling.

Activity 3: Learning to Dance (Kinesthesia)
Today, we will learn how to dance (Yeah!!!!!) Try to keep up with the video (if you can!!!!) How did you do with the video? What might this suggest about your sense of kinesthesia? Do you agree with this assessment? Why? Are you an athlete? Explain your answer.

Activity 4: Touch Test (Proprioception)
Stand up straight with your feet touching and your arms out to your side. Close your eyes and attempt to do the following Clap 5 times rapidly: How did you do? Are you surprised? Try to touch your nose with each alternate hand: How did you do? Are you surprised? Try to touch your fingers together in front to your face: How did you do? Are you surprised? Rate your proprioception on a scale of 1-10. Could you build this up? How?
