Objectives Construct a missing view of an object using 2 provided views. Produce an isometric sketch from a set of orthographic projections
3
Missing Views Missing views are a challenge for 3D visualization skills. The general procedure for constructing the missing view involves locating identical vertices in the provided views and transferring their location onto the missing view.
4
Missing Views – Draw the missing top view
Step 1: Project vertices. Step 2: Measure distances from Right Side View. Step 3: Locate and connect corresponding vertices. Step 4: Add hidden and center lines. 8 4 8 4 CLICK
5
Missing Views To construct a pictorial drawing from orthographic projections it is convenient to use “reverse” edge or point tracking. Step 1: Locate an anchor vertex or edge Step 2: Successively locate adjacent vertices or edges Step 3: Add internal features
6
Missing Views – Sketch the missing isometric
Step 1: Choose an anchor surface. Step 2: Find and sketch in adjacent surfaces Anchor Anchor Anchor Anchor CLICK
7
Missing Lines Use this time to practice constructing missing views and pictorials from orthographic projections. In class assignment
