3. Dependent Clauses (DC)
A group of words that contains a subject and a predicate, but CAN’T stand alone as a sentence.
Although her diapers were stacked nicely
Because I am hungry
After I went poo poo

Your dependent clause (DC) MUST begin with one of these subordinate conjunctions. If you don’t have these, then you don’t have a DC.

5. Dependent Clauses
Why use a baby and diaper to discuss the dependent clause?
A baby is dependent on an adult, and a baby and diaper go together. A dependent clause is dependent on the independent clause, and a dependent clause and subordinate conjunction go together.
