The polyphonic Lithuanian folk songs called sutartinės have been placed on a UNESCO heritage list.

Sutartinės are an ancient form of two and three voiced polyphony, based on the oldest principles of multivoiced vocal music: heterophony, parallelism, canon and free imitation.

The Lithuanian Song Celebration
It is held every 4 years in Vilnius. Thousands of Lithuanians come from all the world to celebrate this festival. It is a national level occasion which is even included into the UNESCO World Heritage list.
