7. What does this concept of slope really mean?
Restate the rate (slope)
Explain in detail what it means. For example:
Is it a unit rate or cost of one item? (One pencil is $0.25, so y = 0.25x)
Or is it a changing rate? Like adding 2 points each basket? (Y = 2x)
Or is it speed? (This car travels 65 mph y=65x, the other travels 55 mph y=55x…..)
REMEMBER!!! This concept of slope really means a lot of different things!!
Talk in detail what slope means for your situation.

Don’t just give the ordered pair, give the ordered pair and give 2 – 3 sentences about what that means in your story.

If a line is increasing, would that mean you are making or losing money?
If the line is increasing, are you going faster or at the same speed?

Use this as a closing. Make up an amount that has not been shown yet and write a very detailed story using that amount.
