Older people are on it pretending to be kids People I don’t know can follow me People can find where you are on Snap Map Secret Screenshot That you can send/receive nude/inappropriate photos without consent Any common nice website can be a gateway to the dark web/the darker part of the internet How many social media apps I have People don’t know how to talk to each other without it

4 You can get on websites that are past your age limits very easily

8 Preparation All Freshman Academy classes participated in the preparation for this event mirroring a project based learning approach. Math/Science - class review and discussion of statistics of Human Trafficking Global - Slavery unit English - Human Trafficking unit that included an evidence based claim response linking the topic with technology

9 Structure of Event Students were pulled out of classes for a full school day event Students were divided into 7 teams and paired with a Freshman Academy facilitator The schedule of the day consisted of a circuit of 7 workshops located in Room 314 and the 400 wing that focused on topics such as informed consent, healthy relationships, digital citizenship and safety, the economic implications of human trafficking, positive self image, sex trafficking, and a human trafficking survivor’s story. Lunch was arranged around the day’s schedule and housed in Representatives from the St. Lawrence County Youth Bureau, Massena Drug Free Community Coalition, and Horizons Clubhouse were present with materials.
