2. Leopold was the king of Belgium and the first to gain control over the Congo or Zaire.

3. They wanted to colonize the Congo because of the natrual resources such as rubber, ivory, oil and gold.

4. Leopold exterminated 10 million natives and treated them as slaves.

5. Due to large amount of industries goods they were really profitable.

6. Belgians chopped hands off, whipped, shot, raped, and did exploitation on the Congolese.

7. Congo independence was granted on June 30, 1960

8. Conclusion:
Congolese passed through many struggles in the cruel rule of the Belgians that won’t be forgotten in the history of the Congo and in the history of the world.
