1 MI-Excel Collaborative Partner Meeting
September 13, 2018

2 Connector If you could morph into someone else for a day, who would it be and why?

3 2018-19 Regional Assistance Grants Update
Theme: What’s the same? What’s different?

4 RAG “Big Ideas” Same: Data drives the supports provided
Aligns with the school improvement plan District and ISD/ESA agree on supports No facilities/building/infrastructure items allowed

5 RAG “Big Ideas” Different:
Implementation facilitator vs Intervention Specialist & District Improvement Facilitator Instructional Learning Cycles (ILCs) not required School Improvement Facilitator not required Types of supports and services provided are not limited to what was offered in the past

6 RAG “Big Ideas” Different:
Need to approach from the perspective of what would be allowable with Title I at the district level Not as much focus on the adults; services and supports for students are allowable, if data/root cause analysis points to those things Could fund positions at the district/school level

7 RAG “Big Ideas” Different/yet “kind of the same”
“Stuff,” aka materials/durable goods should be avoided unless data/root cause analysis show that a lack of goods vs. a lack of services has led to low achievement/the reason(s) why the school is in CSI status No award for TSI and ATS schools, but they can participate in RAG funded activities regardless of Title I status

8 RAG “Big Ideas” Different, yet “kind of the same”
District staff supporting any CSI, TSI, or ATS school in any way may take advantage of RAG funded supports and services, regardless of building school Title I status

9 The Grant Award/MEGS+ Same:
The award is based on the number of identified schools (now CSI) and the enrollment in each Carryover is allowed Can support released schools with carryover Service plan must align with budget Any identified school can take advantage of RAG funded training or technical assistance

10 The Grant Award/MEGS+ Different:
District service plan only; schools are included in the district service plan Service plan is uploaded in MEGS+ A service plan is not needed for released schools (make sure to note in MEGS+ line item it is a released school supported through carryover) Title I status is no longer required to receive services

11 Service Plan Same: Still required annually Must align with budget

12 Service Plan Different:
One per district; only for currently identified schools Mainly dropdowns (except for Blueprint installing district information) Uploaded in MEGS+ Service Plan Template available from MDE or from the MI Excel Resource Center
