You are here today because you and the churches you served put money away for your retirement. Now you have choices you get to make regarding your future distributions.
Thousands of Southern Baptist ministers, workers and their widows didn’t get to make these same choices. They were not able to make adequate preparation, and now they are retired and live on incomes that are insufficient to meet their living expenses.
Many of these faithful servants worked in small rural churches and now struggle to pay for the basic needs of life — things like food, utilities, prescription drugs and medical care.
GuideStone Financial Resources is currently helping to meet some of these needs for almost 2,000 individuals or couples.
Through the Mission:Dignity ministry, qualified individuals receive $225/mo and couples receive $300/mo after meeting guidelines for income, assets and years of Southern Baptist ministry service.
Applicants at poverty level income and 25 years of ministerial service may be eligible for double those amounts.

Provides approximately $7 million in financial aid each year

All funding comes from direct gifts of individuals and churches
100% of gifts help someone in need
Each year GuideStone’s relief program distributes about $6 million to these needy Annuitants.
All of the funding for the Mission:Dignity ministry comes from the direct gifts of churches, groups and concerned individuals like you. GuideStone gave back its Cooperative Program allocation in 2007 so the SBC could utilize it for other missions work.
All gifts to Mission:Dignity’s annual fund go to help someone in need with nothing taken out for administrative expenses. Decades ago an endowment fund was set up to pay operating expenses which allows the ministry to direct 100% of annual gifts to help someone in need.

There are a variety of ways you can personally get involved in supporting this important ministry to those who are less fortunate than yourself:
Personal gifts — the ministry accepts gifts in any amount and they are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Planned giving — you can name GuideStone as a beneficiary in your will, charitable trust, IRA or retirement account.
Spreading the word — you can get your church, Sunday school class or missions-oriented group involved. Mission:Dignity Sunday is the fourth Sunday in June. We encourage churches to share our ministry with their congregation by providing FREE materials and resources.
Prayer — you can commit to praying on a regular basis for one of these godly men and women or the ministry as a whole.
