February 13th – February 17th ELA: We are going to begin our next unit (wondering and questioning about expository non fiction texts). The text we are reading this week in class is Fantastic Rain Forest Frogs by Dorothy Hinshaw Patent and illustrated by Kendahl Jan Jubb. We are continuing our expository nonfiction unit in writing. Vocabulary: Flashy: “very big, bright, or expensive.” Fantastic: “strange, unusual, or unbelievable.” Diverse: “different from one another.” Avoid: “keep away from.” Deadly: “dangerous or likely to cause death.” Threatened: If something is threatened, it is in danger or likely to be harmed or destroyed. Math: Our math skill this week is finding equivalent fractions. Announcements: Valentine’s Day party is at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14th . Jump Rope for Heart is Feb. 15th at 1:30. Math Homework Mon. – Review and Equivalent Fractions Tues.- Review and Equivalent Fractions Wed.- Review your Study Guide for tomorrow’s test and Equivalent Fractions. Fact fluency test is also tomorrow. Thurs. – Review and Equivalent Fractions Be sure to encourage your child to read each night. They should be reading at least 20 minutes.
