Simple Animals Animals that have bodies made up of only a few types of cells are called simple animals. Sponges-bodies look like bags Worms-bodies are like tubes

Complex Animals This category includes most animals.
Bodies are made up of many parts. Such as : dogs, cats, cows, birds, etc.

Vertebrates These animals have backbones.
The skeleton inside the body supports the animal. These include: humans and other mammals, reptiles, and many others

Invertebrates No backbone
Body is supported by an outer shell, instead of bones on the inside Including arthropods (animals that have legs with several joints): ants, spiders, and crabs

Major difference between plants and animals is . . .
Plants make their own food, by a process called photosynthesis. Animals do not make their own food.
