Blood eosinophil count is a predictor of the exacerbation rate and treatment effect of ICS. Blood eosinophils are a probable marker of eosinophilic exacerbations predicting the effect of ICS on eosinophilic exacerbations, whereas exacerbations of other causes remain unchanged in their rate when with or without ICS.
