14 Turn and talk How is the distribution of major ecosystems or biomes related to climate? If you know the mean annual precipitation and the mean annual temperature of an area, would you be able to predict the type of biome? Explain. Have students turn and talk to a neighbor about the answer to this question. Answer: Biomes are large geographical regions that are characterized by distinct climates. Yes, if you know the average temperature and precipitation then you can narrow down the biomes and will be able to predict the biome.
