2 Mission Statement The mission of OCSD 5 High School for Health Professions is to improve student achievement by using rigorous academic instruction supplemented by innovative teaching, interactive learning, and professional mentoring to give students a competitive edge throughout their high school, college, and professional careers.

Over 70% of the student body have attained the Honor Roll or Principal's List on a quarterly basis NSBE Vex robotics team attained 1st place nationally and competed in Vex Worlds Competition 5 students attained Pharmacy Technician certification. 3 students attained their Medical Assisting, Patient Care Tech, and CAN certifications. 3 Adult students received their Medical Assistant Certification during our community evening program. Ranked by US News & World Report as one of America’s Best High Schools (Bronze Award)

Broadening existing and create new health professions scholarships and/or programs for young, rural students,  especially underrepresented minorities, through the enhancement and development of opportunities such as summer internships in an effort to increase the pipeline of rural individuals entering health professions training.
