Description of Formative Performance Task: You will watch a video on Freedom Flix about Abraham Lincoln. Steps: Take out your notebook to take notes. View the question at the beginning of the video. Take notes to answer that question while watching the video. We will answer the question as a class at the end of the video. Formative Performance Task 2 AUGMENTATION Topic: What role did the election of Abraham Lincoln play in leading to the Civil War? Description of Formative Performance Task: You will answer 3 multiple choice question using your plicker card located in your workbook. Steps: I will put a question up on the projector screen. You will hold up you plicker card with your answer at the top. Hold your card up until I tell you to lower it. I will scan the plicker cards with my phone and let you know if you have the answer correct or if you need to try again. Summative Performance Task 3 MODIFICATION What role did the election of Abraham Lincoln play in leading to the Civil War? Description of Summative Performance Task: You will be divided into groups of 3. Each group will be assigned to do a 5 slide PowerPoint on an aspect of Abraham Lincoln’s life. Each group will create 3 questions using your slides for class discuss to answer and discuss. Steps: You will put in a group of 3 and given a thumb drive to save your PowerPoint to. Each student in a group given a topic that occurred in an aspect of Lincoln’s life. Each student will write a rough draft of their findings then group together will make a PowerPoint. When completed, each student must hand in their rough draft. Students will save PowerPoint on thumb drive. Students will then present their PowerPoint to the class. The class will then answer the 3 questions and discuss. Summative Performance Task 4 REDEFINITION What role did the election of Abraham Lincoln play in leading to the Civil War? Description of Summative Performance Task: After you present your PowerPoint to the class, you will hand in your PowerPoint for other classes to watch and comment. You will also watch other classes PowerPoint and give feedback. Steps During you computer lab time, your group and other groups will take turns viewing the other classes PowerPoint. After you have completed the other classes PowerPoint, you will create a slide with your groups names and comment on their PowerPoint. When done with that PowerPoint, groups will rotate thumb drives and view and comment on each groups presentation. Thumb drives will be given back to original groups to be viewed in computer lab.
