AP Calculus Mrs. Mongold

2 Graphs of Trig Functions
y=cosx Domain: Range: Period:

3 y=sinx Domain: Range: Period:

4 y=tanx Domain: Range: Period:

5 y=secx Domain: Range: Period:

6 y=cscx Domain: Range: Period:

7 y=cotx Domain: Range: Period:

8 Periodic Function A function f(x) is periodic if there is a positive number P such that f(x+p) = f(x) for every value of x, the smallest such value of p is the period of f.

9 Even & Odd Trig. Functions
Cosx and secx are even functions, the other four are odd

10 Transformations y=a f(b(x+c)) + d
a= vertical stretch or shrink; reflection about x-axis b= horizontal stretch of shrink; reflection about y-axis c= horizontal shift d= vertical shift

11 Sinusoid
