Metal repousse line design 100pts. DO: Create 3 thumbnail sketches 4 x 4” of unique
patterns & designs - at least 5 (zentangles).
Select your most successful design & transfer to aluminum or copper metal plate.
Use tools to make impressions, repousse and chasing.
Ink metal with India Ink & brush off to show low relief.
Apply metal to black paper – extend design onto paper.

2. Repousse is a metalworking technique in which a malleable metal is ornamented or shaped by hammering from the reverse side to create a design in low relief. While repoussé is used to work on the reverse of the metal to form a raised design on the front, chasing is used to refine the design on the front of the work by sinking the metal.
