They deliver products and services to over 300,000 individuals, families and businesses in communities all across America, providing financial protection to the middle-income segment of the U.S. population. Business problems that led to evaluating CPM, adopting Prophix: Excel and Forecaster replacement for budgeting down to the product level, CapEx and Personnel Planning, Financial reporting, board reporting packages and forecasting. Replaced a manual process using 30 spreadsheets. OpEx budgeting and revenue including driver based calculations (kilowatt hours, different bands) as well as personnel planning at the headcount level.

Prophix solution: Centralized platform for all Finance processes eliminating time consuming and error prone processes with Excel and Forecaster. Enable driver-based calculations for cost allocations by Policies-In-Force and Premium Amounts. Workflow to automate, manage and have visibility into budget process. Reducing time for forecasting to facilitate quarterly updates to the business plan. Future use of Prophix Mobile across the executive team for board reporting. Benefits planned: Previous cost allocation exercise took a day and half – Frequent changes made this process very time consuming and manual. This will be entirely automated with Prophix with time delays eliminated. Workflow will streamline processes and provide visibility and reminders to ensure a more timely budgeting process. Manual review of spreadsheets and variance reports will be eliminated. Future use of SharePoint for report distribution and the cancellation of a planned Crystal Reports project – all will be automated through Prophix. Executive team will have up-to-date financial and variance data at their fingertips during monthly executive committee meetings and will migrate to Prophix Mobile in the boardroom.
