Rainbow Sight Words Sight words are grouped in colors to correspond with our reading program, Benchmark Literacy (red words, orange words, yellow words, green words, blue words and purple words) Once your child has mastered the first set, they will be able to color that part of their rainbow and move on. Students will be tested weekly (time allowing) to see where they are and if they are ready to move on. Sight words MUST be practiced daily for your child to succeed at Kindergarten standards!

Homework Homework will be assigned on a need be basis.
For example, if a student is struggling with a particular concept or strategy, reinforcement will be sent home. Please work with your student on the concept, and feel free to send the work back to school with the student for me to check. If you feel that your student is struggling with something at home, please reach out and I will work in school with the student as well as sending reinforcement home.

Parent contact via or phone will be done if the student has a red day. Each day the student will start the class with a green card, regardless of how the day prior went. In order for the student to stay on green, they must display “green student” actions. These actions have been described and modeled throughout the first week of school.
