The Contherm Mitre Series offers the user precise performance,user friendly operation and long term dependability. The Mitre series of culture incubators is available in three sizes from 150L to 400L.
Additionally, the cabinets can be configured to have either Peltier (‘T’ suffix) or conventional cooling(‘C’ suffix) fitted to operate at temperatures as low as +15oC.

The Mitre series incubators use the following sensors:
Thermal Conductivity (for measurement of CO2 concentration)
Silicon Temperature sensor
Capacitive Humidity Sensor
When CO2 in injected into the closed chamber, the conductivity of the air is lowered, the thermal conductivity system measures this change and uses it to calculate the concentration of CO2 in the chamber.

Temperature calibration may be performed via the front panel buttons. By entering a special calibration mode the display may be adjusted to register the same value as a certified thermometer, the resulting ‘CAL FACTOR’ will be shown and should be recorded for future reference.
The CO2 sensor may be put into an AUTO-CAL mode where the CO2 solenoid is inhibited and the CO2 display ‘Flashes’ until a suitable baseline has been found for the thermal conductivity sensors. When the baseline is stable the display will cease to ‘Flash’ and the solenoid will be alloed to bring the CO2 concentration up to the desired level.
The capacitive humidity sensor is factory precalibrated and requires no further adjustment to give a typical accuracy of +- 5% RH.

Repeated opening of the chamber door is a problem in any busy laboratory, leading to unacceptable conditions which adversly affect cell growth. The graphs shown compare the recovery of Contherm Mitre Series incubators with a typical water-jacketed incubator after a 30second door opening.
