Today’s Research Journal Four (RJ4) Basic Options

RJ4 Breakdown: This last research journal will make up components of your final exam. Graded parts include: Research Journal Annotation, thesis, outlines (paper & presentation), etc. Same grading rubric as RJ3 Written Paper 4-5 pieces of paper. RJ2 paper will be handed back next week. Use these notes to improve writing for RJ4. Presentation/Poster/ Artifacts 5-7 minutes Similar to last presentation.

Research Journal Requirements:
Same order of documents as previous journals. Use notes and previous research journals to compile materials in the appropriate order. Two outlines will be submitted, one for your paper, another for your presentation. Research with ten sources in your journal. Use them to support your thesis with specific evidence and offer proof in your presentation. A maximum of three (3) sources can be non-database articles. Small articles (1-2 pages), count as half an article. You can use more than ten sources.

Tri- Fold Poster Specifics:
Title Thesis Presentation Outline 3 pages minimum. 3-6 Images Works Cited with images All items must be matted Affixed to the tri-fold board. Under $6 at Michaels.

Ideas to Consider: You will be doing a lot of research with your topic, select something you are interested in. You will be presenting your research to our class. Excite everyone with interesting areas of your topic.

Ideas to Consider: Writing a research paper & giving a presentation does not mean you need to select an incredibly stuffy topic: “The Biometric Importance of Nasal Congestion” “Build a Bear Workshop: The Normalization of Pre-Teen Pregnancy”

RJ4 Topics: What topic would you like your final exam to cover? (RJ4 is your final exam grade.) I have: My idea already. Good for you! A few ideas I’m debating between. Use the databases to look into each area. No idea. Look at the SIRS ® Issue Researcher list (uploaded 1-31). Use eLibrary’s search options to find interesting areas.
