3. What are GEDE’s aims?
To promote, foster and drive the discussions and consensus forming on creating guidelines, core components and concrete data fabric configuration
The group’s success will be measured by making progress in achieving broad agreements to improve data sharing and re-use, in pushing the global discussion ahead and in improving the interactions within and between the infrastructure initiatives.

4. How does GEDE relate to RDA?
As indicated GEDE is part of a larger discussion process which means that it should:
have open, visible discussions
develop contributions, rather than final decisions

5. What are GEDE’s aims?
Act as a platform to engage European data professionals in a cross-disciplinary exchange of principles, recommendations and standards in the data domain
Discuss messages coming from RDA Working & Interest Groups and other initiatives working on data issues
Discuss core components and concrete infrastructure configuration building and testbeds
Discuss and develop aggregated guidelines/recommendations and contribute to the RDA Atlas of Knowledge

6. How does GEDE work?
Communication through regular teleconferences, face-to-face meetings and discussion
Technology and project independent - does not promote, endorse, or sell commercial products, technologies, or services
It brings together the expertise collected within RDA, within the respective initiatives and from other initiatives dealing with data related issues such as FAIR, W3C, IETF, etc
