The fours steps in the investment process:
Determine baseline risk management principles:
% of portfolio per single equity
Hard sell rules and non-buy rules
Establish watch lists – screens, IBD100, BigCap20, other sources – looking primarily at fundamentals (EPS rating, SMR rating) and some technicals (A/D, RS rating, group strength, comp rating)
Determine entries based on market and base analysis
Determine exits based on hard rules or exit patterns
