1. Assessment and evaluation of students: Modification of practice
My classroom learning community will always be a safe learning environment whereby students are willing to take risks, make mistakes and learn from one another…
Therefore, I must acknowledge that there are areas in which I will also make mistakes and I must be willing to learn from others.
Student assessment and evaluation has proven to be an area whereby I’ve had to work diligently in order to improve.

2. Why have I put in so much effort in this process?
A learning process…
It began by asking Miss Mandarino to show me her various methods of assessment according to the curriculum guidelines.
Then, I obtained help from my peers and Professors in the Faculty of Education who directed me to various online resources for rubrics and assessment strategies.
After trying a multitude of sources (websites, resource books, programs), I finally found a method that seemed effective.
Furthermore, I recognize that there are always ways to improve upon my assessment strategies. I’ve been continuing to seek help from Mrs. MacNeice in order to extend my assessment skills.
Why have I put in so much effort in this process?
I believe very strongly in effective student assessment. I want to be sure that I am able to teach to the best of my ability AND that every student has a chance to accurately demonstrate what they have learned.
