The APUSH test is designed to challenge a students ability to utilize “Historical Thinking Skills” to successfully navigate a 4 part test.
In simple terms, you are being asked to become amateur historians, critically analyzing history, to uncover deeper connections.

The new “redesigned” test will require that you have these following skills:
Analyzing Evidence:
Making Historical Connections
Chronological Reasoning
Creating and Supporting a Historical Argument.

5. The Test…5/5/2016 Multiple Choice: 55 ques. in 55 min = 40% of Test
Short Answer: 4 ques. (2-4 sent. each) in 50 min = 20% of Test
Document-Based: 1 open response using 6 historical documents 55min = 25% of Test
Essay: 1 formal 3 part essay in 35min = 15% of Test
