Becoming a Historian… The APUSH test is designed to challenge a students ability to utilize “Historical Thinking Skills” to successfully navigate a 4 part test. In simple terms, you are being asked to become amateur historians, critically analyzing history, to uncover deeper connections.

The new “redesigned” test will require that you have these following skills: Analyzing Evidence: Making Historical Connections Chronological Reasoning Creating and Supporting a Historical Argument.

The Test…5/5/2016 Multiple Choice: 55 ques. in 55 min = 40% of Test
Short Answer: 4 ques. (2-4 sent. each) in 50 min = 20% of Test Document-Based: 1 open response using 6 historical documents 55min = 25% of Test Essay: 1 formal 3 part essay in 35min = 15% of Test

Curriculum Audit The course is divided into 9 units of content

AP Test Scoring 5 – Extremely Well Qualified 4 – Well Qualified
2 – Possibly Qualified 1- No Recommendation Depending on the college or university your students selects credit can be given based on these scores.

My Grading Process Percentage based (ex. 80% = B-): will be applied to all class and homework, assignments, etc With Standards Based Grading (0 = Unsuccessful/1 = successful) Will be applied to skill based assessments Students will be assessed multiple time on material to account for true learning over time.
