2 Warm-Up In your group, half your recipe- marking on the recipe copy found in your kitchens You may need to convert- ¼ cup needs to be turned into tablespoons to half it Note- If you eat any raw cookie dough today you will get a ZERO. Agenda Read both recipes, figure out which you will cook first- get approved by teacher You will bake 15 cookies of each, the pre-bought dough and the homemade. Extra dough will be formed into cookie sized drops, wrapped in plastic wrap and frozen for a special treat in May. Set up your tasting plates, clean up – do not eat cookies until the teacher tells you!

3 Worksheet Directions Using the chart on the next slide, figure out the cost per cookie for your homemade recipe and the cost per cookie for the two pre-bought dough options. Answer the two questions at the bottom of your worksheet. Turn in your worksheet at the end of class. (need extra time? It’s due at the start of class on Tuesday!)

5 Figuring Out Costs Remember from your packet that you first figure out the cost per unit Then you multiply times the number of units in your recipe Add all the individual ingredient costs Divide by the number of servings in the recipe Cost of Pkg/ Qty in Pkg $3.50 / 10 cups = .35 per cup = Cost per unit .35 x 4 cups = $1.40 used in recipe $ = $4.50 $.4.50 /6= .75 per serving 75 cents per serving
