Emphasis DEFINITION: 1. Special stress laid upon, or importance attached to, anything 2. Something that is given great stress or importance YOUR definitions: Exaggerated When something stands out Something of importance

WHAT DO WE WANT TO EMPHASIZE?
Main subject. HOW CAN WE EMPHASIZE SOMETHING? Spot Coloring! Singling the subject out Making it the largest object in the frame Making your main subject the lightest area of an other wise dark photo or visa versa Centering your subject Composition – All other objects pointing to your main subject Visual Movement – moving the viewers eyes towards the main subject Depth of Field – Main subject in focus, everything else is blurry

Depth of Field Open your aperture and use an F/2. 8, 4 or 5
Depth of Field Open your aperture and use an F/2.8, 4 or 5.6 to create an image with a narrow depth of field.
