6. Event Responsibilities
Call up athletes
“Up”, “On deck”, “On hold”
Make eye contact if possible (still is athlete’s responsibility to be available)
Communicate passes to recorder
Use P/# signs – no shouting
Record TOD of attempt
Block approach between attempts
Cone/Stand on runway/Block cage

Special duties for vertical jumps
Enter height sequence on event sheet before event
Mark each athlete’s opening height
Announce # of athletes at each height
Determine standard settings for PV
Notify athletes of time/attempt for consecutive or 2-3 athletes remaining
