It is important to optimize and save images properly for the web and devices.
Start with a sized down JPEG file.

STEP 1:
Open an image > Click, Save for Web and Devices, a new window will open.

Choose 4-up (This allows you to view different options.)
Choose JPEG from the pull-down menu.
The default is 60 quality and can be recognized by the blue highlight.
Click, Save

A new window will open. The new file name will have dashes between the spaces.
If you do not have any space you can add the word web to your file name.
