Recent racially motivated bias incidents at Cornell negatively impact our community
Students may be feeling threatened, marginalized, and undervalued as individuals
The vast majority of students are appalled by the attitudes expressed by the very few
I, along with Cornell Engineering, unequivocally reject any biased behaviors as inconsistent with our values and our goals
Behaviors such as these will not be accepted in the classroom or in the college
We welcome and value all of our students, and we are stronger for the diversity they bring to our endeavors
As a professor, and as an individual, I absolutely agree with this position.
