Technology is an action that involves a detailed progression called the Technological Design Process. Technology is also sometimes defined as human innovation in action.

Innovation is an inert ability of humans. Humans change their world around them to satisfy. Technology is also an extension beyond our natural capabilities. For example: our eyes, ears, and hands are not technology.

Humans utilize resources of their environment accomplish goals. The nature and development of technologies are dependent upon a given setting. A water retrieving device will be designed and produced much differently if it was made for a person on a deserted island versus someone in the Arctic Circle.
