Identifying beginning sounds Letters Nn and Oo (sound, letter recognition, handwriting, and sign language) Color word – purple Literature about squirrels Fiction/Non-Fiction Letters and Sounds Progress Check Math Calendar math Numbers 11 &12 Tally marks Number bonds Ten frames Even and odd numbers Patterns (AB, AABB, AAB) Shape - Oval This week was all about fall! We read some fun books about squirrels, counted corn (or maize!) in ten frames, discussed fiction and non-fiction books, and we practiced our color words in an adorable squirrel coloring. Next week we will focus on Thanksgiving and we celebrate our upcoming holiday with a Turkey Trot day on the 17th which focuses on language arts skills in fun, Turkey themed stations. The Sign-Up Genius link for volunteering was ed out by Mrs. Reilly. Your child’s progress report will also be coming home on the 17th. We can discuss any questions you may have when we meet during our conference time. I look at the progress report as a chance to celebrate your child’s accomplishments! Kindergarten is a year of growth and they are off to a great start Monday (DAY 5) Gym – Sneakers! Tuesday (DAY 6) Science & Guidance Wednesday (DAY 1) Music Thursday (DAY 2) Library – No Checkouts Friday (DAY 3) Art November – Book Fair Nov 15 10:15-10:45 is our class’s turn, let me know if you can come help write the wish lists! November 17 – Turkey Trot Stations November 20, 21, 27 – Conferences No School for Kindergarten. Sign ups began electronically on Nov 1st at 10AM. Refer to the letter sent home on 10/20
