3. Bell-Ringer: -Think of three reasons we have rules today.
Today’s Lesson will focus on RESPECT FOR Rules:
-Think of three reasons we have rules today.
-What would the world be like if we did not have any rules?

4. Gina—respect for Rules
Gina was on a field trip to the Science Museum, and the kids are told by the museum guide to not touch the atoms display. Emphasizing that the guide dos not want to sound mean, the guide tells the group that anyone who touches the atom display will have to spend the day in her office, no second chances. Gina not only touches some of the atoms, but breaks one of the atoms off the display. As a result, she spends the rest in the guide’s office and misses out on the rest of the field trip and 3D movie.

5. Discussion questions: in groups or together as a class 5-7 minutes
-Why it is important to respect rules?
-Why do you think Gina broke the rule of not touching anything? Do you think her punishment was fair? Why or why not?
-How do you react when people ask you to follow rules? Do you show respect? What happens when you don’t?

6. Rules are everywhere!
Rules are important in ALL parts of society not just school!
