Scribe Terminology Data Source - A grouping of data for specific reporting purposes. Data field - A piece of information that is pulled from the WinTen2+ database and can be inserted into form letters/reports. Parameter – A specific piece of information that is passed to the form letter/report so that the letter/report will print with the appropriate results, i.e. the Program Type is passed to the form letter so that the letter reflects the information from that program type.

Tickler – Feature that tracks due dates on letters sent by your housing authority. Filter - The ability to narrow your data grouping to a more limited set of desired results. For example, a notice needs to go to everyone in Project 1, so the filter would be “project = 1.” Sub-report - A collection of data from a different data source that can be inserted in your main report.
