Updated Weather Report
Highlights Provided by National Weather Service: A tropical storm warning is now in effect for parts of northeast NC A storm surge warning remains in effect for areas near the western Albemarle Sound Florence is expected to make landfall Friday morning as a dangerous hurricane As it makes landfall, the storm will slow down allowing for heavy rainfall to persist through the weekend Dangerous flooding is possible especially across southern VA and northeast NC With the heavy rainfall, and moderate to strong winds, downed trees are possible Storm surge flooding is expected Friday into Saturday, with locally major impacts, especially near Albemarle Sound

9/12/18 Significant Updates
Several LTC facilities in the tidewater area of the state evacuated yesterday. 1 LTC facility in Central Region received 4 residents. Hampton VA Hospital completed its inpatient evacuation but will keep its ED open for as long as possible. Heavy rains passed through a portion of the Richmond area, prompting Flash Flood Warnings Tuesday evening. Federal Disaster Declaration for Virginia Review of Significant Events: Long Term Care Facility Evacuations began yesterday 9/11/2018 from North Carolina and VA Eastern Region Multiple State managed shelters delayed opening to tomorrow (9/13/2018) with Medical Staffing Central Region: VCU Siegel Center in Richmond, VA /13/18 Activating mandated Statewide Sit Reps. Beginning TODAY 3PM

Statewide Sit Reps/Status Updates
All Hospitals / LTC / Dialysis Facilities mandated to complete Situational Reporting WHEN : TWICE EVERYDAY 830 AM / 3:00 PM Updates must occur even if no change WHERE: Can be completed in “Situation Report” tab within VHASS Event OR Simply update your VHASS Status Board

RHCC Transition to Emergency Operations
To communicate with the RHCC while it is activated (will notify region when activated), please use the following guidelines: For Urgent/Emergent Needs: For General Updates / Situational Awareness / Non-urgent Needs: Please Utilize Hurricane Florence VHASS Event Log: Additionally, you may contact the RHCC via: Fax: Hospitals may also utilize the CRISiS Radio System for direct contact with the RHCC. Please reserve the use of RHCC personal cell phone contacts for contingency plans only.

Hospitals: Communications (EM 02.02.01)
To and From RHCC Ensure CRISIS radio desk set and handset functional Communicate any transferring activating immediate bed availability plans to RHCC Internal / external messaging with staff, visitors, patients, residents and families Resources and assets (EM ) Staffing Supplies – supply chain assessment Food / Water /Utilities Transportation Safety and Security (EM ) Please remember evacuations may not be feasible DURING the event, prepare to shelter in place Secure excess debris Staff Responsibilities (EM ) HICS Job Action Sheets can be found on our website in the Collective for Hurricane Florence Share and review your EOP with essential staff Utilities Management (EM ) Review and maintain accurate 96* hour capabilities awareness. Utilize HICS 251–System Status Report Patient Clinical and Support Activities (EM ) Surge / immediate bed availability If you have DIALYSIS units in hospital please make sure you are updating the dialysis specific bed status as well

Long Term Care Facilities:
Pre-landfall Evacuations are actively occurring Monitor VHASS and SMS Alerts for critical developments. Central likely to receive residents. Inter-region evacuations will be communicated to you through the Coalition. Be prepared to use resident tracking system. Be prepared to implement surge plans Keep LTC Status Board updated with current bed availability.

Dialysis Clinics: Ensure Safety/Disaster Messaging with clients
Educate on the need for 3 day kits Have clients review alternate transport options Relay greatest desire is for patient to get to clinic / stay out of hospital Event Log posts on forecasted closings are appreciated. Keep Dialysis Status Board updated with accurate information throughout event.

Medically Vulnerable Patients:
Hospice Home health Establish and maintain an “At Risk Registry” Identify alternate caregivers whenever possible Provide with information on State Managed Shelters 211 / 511 services Relay requests for assistance or significant challenges to the RHCC via VHASS Event Log or by calling RHCC:
