2 HOW TO KEEP YOUR CHILDREN SAFE AT SCHOOL AND HOME KNOWING YOUR CHILDREN’S FRIENDS
Know your children’s friends at school, at home, and in the neighborhood. Know the parent(s) if your child has been invited to a party or activity in another home outside of school.

3 HOW TO KEEP YOUR CHILDREN SAFE AT SCHOOL AND HOME BUS STOP SAFETY
When your children arrive at the bus stop after school, they should go straight home. You should make sure your child receives permission from you if they go to a friends house after they exit the bus. Parents, it is important that you know if your child is riding the bus or walking home from school.

Social Media Sites – Please be mindful of your child’s social media accounts, i.e. snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, etc. Social Media Sites – Check to see if your child has another social media account using a different name (alias). Restrictions – You or your cellphone provider can set restrictions on your child’s cellphone to ensure safety. After hours – Have your child turn in their phone to you before they go to bed to ensure that they are not on social media sites or texting after hours.

Personal Information. Don’t give out personal information without your parents’ permission. This means you should not share your last name, home address, school name, or telephone number. Remember, just because someone asks for information about you does not mean you have to tell them anything about yourself! Photos. Don’t post photos or videos online without getting your parents’ permission. Social Networking. Many social networking websites (e.g., Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and blog hosting websites have minimum age requirements to signup. These requirements are there to protect you and your child! Online Friends. Don’t agree to meet an online friend unless there is a parents’ permission. Unfortunately, sometimes people pretend to be people they aren't. Remember that not everything you read online is true. Bullying. Don’t send or respond to mean or insulting messages. If something happens online that makes your child feel uncomfortable, they should talk to their parents or to a teacher at school.

BULLYING IN SCHOOL, ON THE SCHOOL BUS, IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD Who do you contact if your child is being bullied in school? If your child is being bullied on the bus have them tell the bus driver immediately then the bus driver will inform an administrator. If your child is being bullied in the neighborhood outside of school. The school cannot administer discipline for actions that have occurred outside of the school.

Each student in the school from 6th to 8th grade will be issued a Microsoft Surface 3 tablet. The parent(s) or guardian will sign a user agreement for the device that they are taking possession of. THERE ARE FINES IN PLACE FOR THE SURFACE TABLETS: LOST/STOLEN: 1ST OFFENSE - $ ND AND SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE(S): FULL REPLACEMENT COST $885.00 DAMAGED: 1ST OFFENSE - $ ND AND SUBSEQUENT OFFENSE(S): $300.00
