1. The Seasons and the Sun
The shape of the earth affects the angle of the sun’s light on different places on Earth and causes differences in weather.

2. Important Vocabulary
Hemisphere- Half of a sphere. We will use this word when talking about the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Equator- An imaginary line dividing the Northern and Southern Hemispheres of Earth
Equinox- When daylight is equal in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Solstice- When daylight is most different in the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.

3. As the Earth orbits the Sun, the Northern and Southern Hemispheres of the Earth receive more or less sunlight
