Position Descriptions
Treasurer – Elect (3 Years total) (First year) Collaborates with present Treasurer to learn process (Second year) Assumes responsibilities of treasurer (Third year) Collaborates with Treasurer-Elect to transmit process Management of PayPal account beginning year 1, transfer year 3 to ‘elect’ Oversee & manage financial affairs of the association Prepare quarterly financial reports and annual budget for the board Report financial reports to APIC HQ File appropriate tax documentation Review financial affairs of the association when necessary with legal counsel Assist with development of new revenue sources Secretary (2 years) NO Elect Oversees the maintenance of board records and ensures their accuracy and safety Reviews minutes of board meetings and the annual business meeting Ensures notice of board meetings when such notice is required Serves as chair of the policy & bylaws committee Serves as an ex officio member of the executive committee Serves as an advisor to committee Records, transcribes and distributes the minutes for all official meetings Maintains chapter correspondence, reports, and records Ensures that meeting announcements are sent in a timely manner to all Board Members President Elect (1 year) (First year) Collaborate with President to prepare to assume role Serve as chair-person of the Bylaws committee Serve as Parliamentarian May perform duties delegated by the President or in the absence of the President President Role ( 2 years - 3 Total with elect position) Directly responsible to the Board of Directors for the administration of the organization Presides over all Board Meetings Presides over all business meetings Delegates committee activities and appoints members as necessary 1

Communication Director – Elect
(2 Years total) (First year) Collaborates with present Director to learn process (Second year) Assumes responsibility of Communications Director Coordination and distribution of accurate information to the membership (push s, website postings, and mailings) Liaison between APIC-NE Board and the Webmaster Assists Program Director in the development of event information and registration Program Director - Elect (2 Years total) (First year) Collaborates with the Program Director to learn processes (Second year) Assumes responsibilities of Program Director Collaborates with the Program Committee and Board of Directors to identify the educational needs of beginning and advanced Infection Preventionists Chairs the Program Committee in planning and coordinating educational programs of varied scope Assigns committee members as liaisons to program speakers, collecting presentation information, and assisting with travel arrangements as needed Works with hotel staff, directing event plans and confirming arrangements Ensures the submission of information to obtain CEUs, and provides program evaluation sheets Provides the Communications Director with program information for brochures, and handouts for posting on the APIC NE website Collaborates with governmental and commercial agencies for available funding Nominating Director – Elect (2 Years total) ( First year) Collaborates with present Director to learn process (Second year) Assumes responsibility of Nominating Director Assists in the coordination of all activities related to nominations Soliciting candidates for the APIC NE Board of Directors Serves as a liaison and resource for potential candidates Assists in completing applications and requests for reference letters Reviewing and scoring completed candidate applications independently prior to the ballot meeting Participating in the selection of nominees for the APIC NE Board Membership Director -Elect (2 years total) ( First year) Collaborates with present Director to learn process (Second year) Assumes responsibility of a Membership Director Maintain records of membership Be responsible for all correspondence relating to membership Be responsible as liaison with National Membership Director
