Radicals to the nth root
When taking radicals to the nth root, n is how many of a number need to be grouped together. When we look at square roots, 2 𝑥 , we look for 2 of the same number to multiply to equal x. Ex: 2 9 = 2 3×3 =3 So when we take 3 𝑦 , we look for a number multiplied by itself 3 times to equal y. Ex: 3 8 = 3 2×2×2 =2
5
Radicals to the nth root
As a class, do 15, 17, 19, and 21. Work on evens with partner. Correct!
6
Real numbers What are real numbers?
Draw the bulls eye of rational numbers and then the box for irrational numbers.
7
Complex numbers The complex number set is comprised of all the Real numbers (Natural, Whole, Integers, Rational, and Irrational), Imaginary numbers, and any combination of the two.

Task! On front, remember to simplify the radicals BEFORE deciding if they are rational or irrational. Get as far as you can. We will be going over these 10 minutes before the bell rings.
