HW: Read and highlight Chemistry Study Guide pages 48, 49 and 50 in Review Manual. *Remember to study 20 minutes* Do Now: 6/5/17 Take out your HW (pages 27-30) On loose-leaf paper, explain how Circulatory and the Respiratory systems work together to maintain homeostasis. Must include the function of each system and how they work together. Must be a minimum of three complete sentences.
2
Circulatory: transports materials Respiratory: exchanges gases
Functions: Circulatory: transports materials Respiratory: exchanges gases Work together: The circulatory system transports materials (like O2 and CO2) around the body. The circulatory gets the O2 from the Respiratory system (gas exchange of O2 and CO2). The gas exchange takes place by diffusion through the capillaries surrounding the alveoli in the lungs. Respiratory: Exchange gases Circulatory: Transports blood

Oxygen passes from the alveoli into the capillaries. Diffusion Remember, inside the capillaries, there are red blood cells waiting to pick up the oxygen to carry it back to the heart, where it will go to the body.
