Parent and Pupil Information Session

2 Lockerbie Manor Lockerbie Manor in Dumfries and Galloway is set amidst 78 acres of tranquil woodland and fields inhabited with an abundance of natural wildlife. The centre is superbly located in South West Scotland with easy access from the M74 motorway.

Canoe/Kayak Hill Walk Zip Wire Manor Olympics (fun and games for teams) Climbing Scavenger Hunt (small group activity collect fun items) Volleyball Abseiling Low Ropes (a series of cabled and rope events) Stand up Paddle Boarding (very wet activity) Survival Skills (5 basic elements : shelter, warmth, drink, food, rescue) Mountain Biking Blind Trail (experience life without one of the senses) Obstacle Course Wide Games (plan tactics and learn skills) Orienteering Team Games Disco

4 A typical day 07.00 - Rise & Shine 07.30 - Breakfast starts
Breakfast starts 09.00 – Outdoor Pursuit Session 1 10.30 – Break Time 10.50 – Outdoor Pursuit Session 2 12.20 – Lunch Time 13.40 – Outdoor Pursuit Session 3 15.10 – Break Time 15.30 – Outdoor Pursuit Session 4 17.15 – Evening Meal / Free time 19.00 – Outdoor Pursuit Session 5 Bedtime - At the discretion of the school

5 What to pack – clothing Please label all clothing
5 woolly jumpers or heavy sweatshirts 10 warm t-shirts 5 pairs of old jogging/tracksuit bottoms (lycra dries quickly) No jeans allowed for activities Underwear 10 pairs of socks Old trainers that can get wet x2 Water proof jacket Water proof trousers

6 What to pack – clothing Please label all clothing
Night clothes (t shirts, joggies, sweatshirt) Pyjamas Indoor shoes Sun hat Disco clothes – jeans allowed

7 What to pack – other essentials
Sleeping bag & Pillowcase A drink bottle Rucksack Wash Bag & Toiletries (NO aerosols, roll on deodorant) Large plastic bag for dirty clothes Towels x 2 Sun cream Midge cream

8 What to pack – optional extras
Some sweets for night time – NO NUTS or traces of nuts £5 for tuck (coins please) No more than this Books, playing cards and other quiet activities Camera – disposable one

9 What not to pack Electronics such as: I pads Phones Tablets
Games Consoles Hair Dryers Straighteners Chewing gum Football strips/tops Welly boots Jewellery

10 Food All children will be provided with breakfast, lunch and dinner
A few options will be available Dietary requirements/allergies Manners Turn taking Noise levels Teachers eat too!

11 Medication Any medication that is kept in school will be taken by the teachers to Lockerbie Manor Parents please ensure you sign Medicine Consent form prior to departure Children to make sure they are responsible for anything they may need on the bus i.e. inhaler

12 Accommodation- Pod village
Children will be in a pod and activity group with at least one friend. Class teachers will approve these arrangements. Pods and activity groups will be allocated on arrival.

13 Departure – 4th June Arrive at school at usual time with name clearly marked on suitcase Relaxed morning with class teacher in class Break at normal time Lunch at 12:00 (toilet) Bring packed lunch in a disposable bag Begin loading buses around 12.30pm Parents welcome to come school for departure which should be around 1pm No food allowed on the bus Travel sickness – please provide medication

14 Arrival – 8th June Should arrive back at school around 2.30pm
School will provide updates if any travel disruption etc. Children should be collected and taken home at this time

15 Twitter No wifi out with main building
Staff will take as many photographs as possible Please be patient Any emergencies you will be notified immediately If you need to contact us please call the school and they will contact Miss McKenzie You can contact Lockerbie Manor directly

16 Behaviour contract To be completed and returned asap
Must be completed prior to the trip Manners Following rules Health and safety Rules not followed parents to collect child

17 Parents Please speak to Miss McKenzie if you have any concerns prior to the trip Pod allocations can not be changed Ensure all medications are up to date and consents are completed Discuss behaviour contract with your child Don’t worry

18 Children Follow the rules Representing St Cadoc’s Have fun
