2 Overview: Lexington’s Waste Fleet
Service 96,000 homes and 3,000 businesses each week Municipal refuse fleet of 128 vehicles 11 vehicles run on CNG with 2 additional units to be delivered by December

3 Why Transition to CNG? Lower cost of fuel, domestic product
$1.50 to $2 below the cost/gallon of diesel Projected savings in vehicle maintenance Annual savings of about $6,500 per truck in fuel and maintenance. Extend life of tune-up by 50,000 miles, and oil changes are good for an extra 25,000 miles. Better for the environment 20-30% reduction in greenhouse emissions And the vehicles are quiet!
