Undergraduate TEP Admission Requirements
Successful completion of: 50 hours of college credit (40 hours in general studies) 2.75 GPA on all work attempted (teaching field, professional studies, and total institution-overall) ED 401, ENG 101, ENG 102, and COMS 101 “C” or better in all general studies, teaching field, and professional studies courses TEP Interview Core Academic Skills for Educators Test Background clearance Status Letters will be sent out stating what needs to be fulfilled for TEP admission.

Graduate TEP Admission Requirements
Successful completion of: TEP interview Core Academic Skills for Educators Test Praxis Content Knowledge Test (will depend on your teaching field) Background clearance “C” or better in all general studies, teaching field, and professional studies courses Your Alt A evaluation lists requirements Status Letters will be sent out stating what needs to be fulfilled for TEP admission

TEP Retention GPAs Undergraduate Minimum GPAs: Graduate GPA:
2.75 Teaching Field 2.75 Professional Studies 2.75 Total Institution Graduate GPA: Maintain a minimum of 3.25 overall

TEP Interview Purpose and Date
The purpose of the interview is to assess your readiness for formal admission to the Teacher Education Program (TEP) TEP Interview Date and Information You will be notified by of your interview date/time/place Applications are available in the TES office (Wills 207) or on the TES website, TEP Interview AND TEP Admission applications are due by the dates posted outside the TES office

TEP Interview Information
Must score 22 to pass A score of “1" on any item is automatic failure You are allowed three attempts to pass (interviews available fall, spring, & summer) Your advisor will review your score and team comments with you Interview team consists of two to three faculty members: Each interview lasts minutes

Core Academic Skills for Educators Test Information
See handout or visit for Core Academic Skills for Educators testing information. Successful completion of the Core Academic Skills for Educators is required for TEP admission.

Praxis Tests Successful completion of your content area Praxis test is required for TEP admission for graduate students/ internship for undergraduate students Successful completion of all Praxis tests are required for internship Official score reports MUST be received in our office by April 1 for fall interns & October 1 for spring interns Specific content area test information is available on the TES website, See handout for Praxis II tests required for your program area Do not wait!! Register now and get them out of the way!! Send score report to ALSDE and the University of Montevallo and include your full social security number on test documents

Fingerprint and Background Clearance
Clearance is required to go into the schools for field placement Check for clearance through the Public Teaching Certificate Portal Fingerprint/background clearance information Type in name here to search for information

TEP Handbook TEP Handbook includes:
guidelines and requirements for TEP admission, retention, and completion important TEP information field and clinical information It is your responsibility to know the information in the TEP Handbook The TEP Handbook and other TEP information is available on TES website
