2. Headline news AGM held on 25th September
Exec Board have approved reduction in subscriptions from £3 per learner to £2 per learner if schools sign up to a three year commitment
Only 18% of LLP’s income comes from subscriptions
Last year we spent £12.63 per learner, more than four times the amount given in subscriptions

3. Transition
18 summer schools took place across the city’s secondary schools for year 7 pupils who may struggle on transfer from primary
Evaluations are very positive from 14 schools:
86% responded that they STRONGLY AGREE and 14% AGREED that the summer school helped prepare pupils for secondary school.
93% responded that they STRONGLY AGREE and 7% AGREED that the summer school had an impact on attitudes towards secondary school.
93% responded that they STRONGLY AGREE and 7% AGREED that the summer school had an impact on well-being.  One school added that it also had an impact on Parents’ well-being.
29% STRONGLY AGREE, 57% AGREED and 14% Neither agreed or disagreed that the summer school encouraged reading for pleasure.

4. Transition
Special Schools were awarded £1000 each to develop their transition programmes. This was spent on a range of activities in different schools
A common form for year 6 to year 7 transition was trialled last year. It had some teething problems which need sorting, but these can be overcome in good time for this year.

5. Mental health and emotional wellbeing
Additional training for MHFA Champions in all secondary schools and some AEP
ROAR still being delivered across all primary schools and some special schools with fantastic evaluations
Toolkit for staff is live on the CAHMS website
Partnership Expression of Interest has been submitted to Dept of Health for Trailblazer status.

Dragons’ Den 2018
Overall winners: Childwall Abbey School
On 2nd July, pupil representatives from Liverpool schools stepped up to face the ‘dragons’ in showcasing their design to enhance maths, linked to the Year of Engineering.
Pupils from a range of primary, secondary and special schools presented their designs to both their peers and a board of education professionals. It was a tough decision!
