What makes the universe?
Febrys Knolan L. Velasco 7 - Amorsolo
2
The universe Made up of 2 things – energy and matter
Energy – ability to cause changes in different forms Matter – physical environment
3
Past 13.7 billion years ago, the universe was made of 63% dark matter, 15% photons, 12% atoms, 10% neutrinos
4
Present 72% dark energy, 23% dark matter, 4.6% baryonic matter
5
Dark Matter Not like the stars and planets
Made up of bayrons (nucleon or hyperon; mass equal to or greater than that of a proton)
6
Photons Fundamental particles that make up light
Both particle and wave Don’t carry a charge and has no mass
7
Neutrinos Like electrons but do not carry an electric charge
Non-zero mass
8
Baryonic Matter Made up of protons, neutrons, etc. (excluding leptons)
Examples: Clouds of cold gas Planets Comets and asteroids Stars Neutron stars Black holes
9
THIS MEANS THAT EVERYTHING IN EXISTENCE IS PART OF THE UNIVERSE.
