5. Procedure DAY ONE 1. Obtain an empty beaker, stopwatch and thermometer
2. Have a teacher bring a heated test tube of lauric acid to your lab table and place in beaker
3. Add a thermometer and record temperature every 15 seconds until the temperature is constant (check with teacher before stopping)

1. Fill beaker half way with water and place on hotplate
2. Place test tube with lauric acid and thermometer in beaker and heat on 7 and record temperature every 15 seconds
3. Heat until the temperature is constant (check with teacher)
