Their beliefs... His beliefs...
I can be good on my own. I don’t need a way to heaven; I can be good enough Sin (breaking God’s moral law) is bad, but it’s okay -- he’ll forgive you. God gives us free will; choose to use it. Man is inherently good, therefore religion is just about being good enough for God’s standards. True virtue comes from: self-love and caring for others (family, nation, mankind). Any good that is in man comes directly from God. The only means of salvation is realizing God provided the only way (through Jesus). Man is inherently corrupt; he is born that way. Our acts of good should be in reply to God’s act of forgiveness of our sin. True virtue comes from: realizing the highest regards goes to God alone...THEN we are called to love others.
