2. Responsibilities The Admission and Advancement (A&A) Committee:
implements policies, rules and procedures
acts on applications for membership to all grades except Honorary Member and Fellow.
rotates its senior member panel review meetings among the Regions to assure representation from all Regions.

3. Senior Member Elevation Panels
In 2011 nine review panel meetings were held. The panel in Region 1 was conducted on November 19, 2011.
Results from the eight review panels:
Applications reviewed = 2,267
Qualified = 86%
Pending = 8%
Unqualified = 6%

4. Senior Member Elevation Panels
The next review panel date in Region 1 is scheduled for June 30, 2012 in Boston.

5. Committee Meeting Initiative
Better define the requirement of significant performance as it pertains to IEEE designated fields and non-IEEE designated fields.

6. New A&A Initiative
The on-line Senior Member Application, Nomination, and Reference Form was launched 29 July 2011.

7. Region 1 Senior Member Performance
