2. Objective:
Design and construct an experimental set-up for class demonstrations of resonant and near-resonant vibration of
a solid mass supported by an elastic spring, such as
Illustrated in the Figure 1.

Demonstration Case 1 for resonant vibration:
Make ω = ωo
Demonstrate Case 2 for near-resonant vibration:
Make ω ≈ ωo
Visibility of mass vibrations in either cases will be a priority for grading.
NOTE:
Visual effects on mass vibrations in both demonstrations will be a priority for
grading.
(2) Adequacy of demonstrate setting and its robust will be desired.
(3) Comparison of measured amplitudes of mass vibrations with the computed values
will OFFER extra credit (the 3rd credit) to the project.
